The space
THE GREAT OUTDOORSAs well as walks closer to Fletchers the South Devon Coast offers miles of glorious walking with superb views and plenty to see. To the north and only 10 minutes by car is the Dartmoor National Park with 365 square miles of moor, streams, rivers and forest. High granite tors, prehistoric remains and enchanting hamlets and villages make Dartmoor a very special place.FOR CHILDRENWithin 20 minutes drive are the Woodlands Adventure park, the Pennywell Farm and adventure park, the River Dart adventure park and numerous smaller attractions for sunny and not so sunny days.GARDENSThere are half a dozen National Trust properties and gardens within easy reach of Fletchers and a day trip away are the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, the world famous Eden Project and the Lost gardens of Heligan. During the summer months there are many private gardens open as part of the National Gardens Scheme. Look for the yellow signs.TOWNSTotnes is the nearest town to Fletchers, famous for it’s eclectic and alternative lifestyle but with a great range of independent shops and a refreshing lack of chain stores. Its Norman castle, medieval Guildhall and many Elizabethan buildings stretch down to the River Dart. Lively and different Totnes has a twice weekly market and a great selection of bars, cafes and pubs with regular live music. Nearby at Dartington is the famous hall, gardens and arts centre as well as the Cider Press craft and shopping centre.Dartmouth at the mouth of the River Dart is the place for boats large and small with a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. The castle, museum and the famous Britannia Royal Naval College are all worth a visit.Kingsbridge at the head of its estuary is a good stopping off point on the way to the beaches of the south and west coast of the South Hams while Salcombe is a mecca for sailors. To the north the Dartmoor gateway towns of South Brent, Buckfastleigh (with its famous abbey) and Ashburton are worth a visit before climbing up to the moor itself. The Torbay towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham offer everything from shopping and sailing to the bucket and spade beach delights of Paignton and the fishing port of Brixham.For city life Exeter and Plymouth are both 40 minutes by car.SPORTSailing and Watersports are to the fore in the South Hams with facilities for boat hire and launching at Totnes, Dittisham, Dartmouth, Salcombe and Torbay. Canoeing, kayaking, diving and sea and coarse fishing are all readily available. There are 6 Golf courses within easy reach with tennis at Totnes and Blackawton, horseriding at Broadhempston and on Dartmoor, rock climbing at Buckfastleigh and on Dartmoor, surfing at Bigbury, horse racing at Newton Abbot and Exeter, football at Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay and Rugby at Exeter. Swimming pools are in Totnes, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Torquay. Also swimming in the sea of course! Boat trips varying from 12 seater canoe adventures to large pleasure boats and nature watching or fishing trips start from many centres in the area. Steam trains run from Totnes and Kingswear.

Getting in:
Guests are able to walk through the nearby fields and streams as it’s owned by Fletchers Combe (70 acres). However, please bear in mind that we rear livestock so make sure to close gates behind you and don’t harm the animals!

Two detached, airy and secluded barns finished to a very high specification, plus a separate party room in the large barn for formal dining or to play all day and night, and a hot tub.Great for mixed parties, with plenty of space and options for everyone to do their own thing.It’s in a splendid location near Monmouth with acres of lovely pasture and woodland with spectacular views all around in an “Area of outstanding beauty”.1/2 hour from M4 / M5.

The space
Maesbrook has 6 bedrooms, with a single bed in the study and 3 bathrooms- sleeping 11. The sitting room, kitchen and dining room are comfortable for 17 guests. Maesbrook Cottage has disabled access with 2 rooms and a disabled friendly bathroom. It sleeps 6. It also has its own living room and fully equipped kitchen. The Club Room has a large kitchen, seated dining for 30, and sports and leisure facilities.There is the hot tub and separate showers and toilets for campers.The third cottage on the farm sleeps 6, ask the host about its availability as this can be booked for an additional fee.

Getting in:
In addition to the above, guests have access to 50 acres of farm and woodland, a 600m jogging circuit, various picnic stops, a vineyard, ponds and streams, public footpaths and spectacular views all around.Access to other buildings except as specified above is restricted or not allowed

Surrounded by wild meadows and with far-reaching rural views, Old Great Marlborough is a beautifully restored, self-catered farmhouse for large groups wanting to escape it all. The once forgotten, traditional Welsh farmhouse, is immersed in both history and beauty, sleeping anywhere from 6 to 16 people. Find country comfort with beautifully restored bedrooms, spacious reception rooms, a swimming pool, a wood-fired hot tub and so much more.

The space
The house and its 3-acre gardens are perfectly secluded so you are guaranteed peace and tranquillity. An indoor swimming pool, woodfired hot tub along with a games room and tennis court provide plenty of activity for all ages. Meanwhile, a large garden room (complete with fruiting grapevine), antique dining room, and 30 x 30 ft living room with a wood-burning stove make the house a luxurious, comfortable setting for large gatherings. Cooking is a joy in our large, farmhouse kitchen which boasts an Aga and Belfast sink, whilst our well-proportioned bedrooms (all with their own bathrooms), fine artwork, and antique furniture create the ideal atmosphere for a relaxing holiday. The sleeping accommodation is spread throughout the main, historic part of the house, a swimming pool annex, and a separate bunkhouse with its own kitchenette and dining area. We do have a sofa bed available as an extra sleeping space (If you wish to make use of this you will need to provide your own linen to use it)We have just newly installed a hotel-grade heating and plumbing system so lots of hot water and no cold showers!The grounds of OGM host a tennis court with a viewing pavilion, a sunken garden, a covered BBQ area and many secluded seating areas.The gardens feature stunning views of the Black Mountains, Hay Bluff, the magical Skirrid Mountain, rolling hills, farmland, and on a clear night ?? the Milky Way. Holidays at OGM are magical throughout the year, thanks to our array of outdoor and indoor activities on-site. The indoor, under-floor swimming pool provides endless entertainment, particularly as, when closed, it doubles up as a great indoor play area.

We share the driveway and farmland with our neighbour. Please stick to the area surrounding the house only and the public footpaths. If you have dogs, please make sure to shut the main gate at the bottom of the drive before letting them run free.
